Mash Up Da Place!!!!

Ok so since we are all talking about getting fit and ting it brings to light the fact that our bodies need to stand up to the pressures of Carnival. Your size does not necessarily always relate directly to your fitness level – trust me there are nuff skinny girls that people would call fit that have NEVER stepped foot in a gym and trust me I could go outside for a run with them and they will well be huffing and puffing you know.

Carnival is almost here - time to work it girls!!! No time to stick!!!

Come Carnival you really need that stamina if you plan being on da road for 3 days (Sunday night till J’Ouvert bruck out and then Monday and Tuesday) Shit 4 days when you count Ash Wednesday. For me it well go one from there – let us not forget the fete at Pigeon Point come Thursday!!! Best thing for this I feel is to build endurance – give them a run nah. Start jogging ladies – aim for 3 times a week and you will love the results (come on and try it for a month). For all you in the hot sun you best not find no excuse – I do it here in the damn cold you know :)

Best to have your body strong come Carnival - squats, lunges, push ups
, dips (reverse pushups)
really do wonders. Carnival can well mash you up. By the time I done last year I had bruises on my body that till today I can not tell you where they came from – mash up the place??? Indeed!!!

Another great form of Cardio is skipping. Remember to try things in circuits, causing your heart rate to speed up and back down can really give your workout that oomph it needs.

Now I am not no personal trainer but I keep in shape, I work out a good 4 times a week so if you need advice re something, go ahead and ask and lets see what we can come up with.

Lets all help push each other so that we feel hot and are confident with our bodies and then I feel Carnival will take care of itself on the road and 2007 will be the badest/maddest year ever!!!

So true, skinny don't = healthy or fit! So what if you deprived yourself so your ribs show & it's painful to look at you - can you LAST on the road? Nice abs, but where's your endurance? Carnival is about stamina, stamina, stamina!!!!!!!

So how goes your fitness gyrls? I'm at the gym 5 days a week, treadmill, working on increasing my running, & doing my "body weight" leg lifts, man they got me my leanest legs back for 03 Caribana...
As for diet, lately it's all about no trans fat or cholesterol, & no or low saturated fat.

Buublen, where do you box? I've always wanted to do that...
Yesterday we were walking on the wooded trail near our place & startled a deer real close by, it was so funny, it kept running along in the woods in the same direction as we were going, strange it didn't run the opposite way. That's why they're easy hunting, not too sharp. Hey Trinigee, I asked your Cos if he was thinking of curried deer, seeing as he's had every other kind of curry meat, but he said not deer! How'd those deers escape that fate in T'dad? LOL! Then I started walking up to it, & hubby said not a good plan, it doesn't look too friendly, see those antlers? & haven't you ever heard of When Animals Attack? It ran off, but hubby got me spooked, which is crazy, I grew up w deer all around our house, I know they are harmless, but I still jumped when a biker came up behind us. LOL!

Karbana - I have a coach that I train with (I am going competitive) we work out of one of his gyms in the Weston Road and Steeles area. If you and your husband were interested a could get the two of you in for a free class no problem. He has group training classes from Mon – Thurs evenings and then Sunday mornings. He’s great and you will really enjoy it. Let me know if yous are interested. This will all be too funny if I meet a fellow cowgirl before we even hit the road in Trinidad :)

I didn't mean we don't eat deer in Trinidad, I meant I never had deer curried. I'm not sure if nobody currys deer, just that our friends who hunted were black (as opposed to indian)...... not that black people don't like curry, Just they don't tend to curry everything.

Anyways, I have often eatenb deer, although itsa not really my favorite. I favorite wild meat is wild hog..... I think they also call it wild boar. You know Pumba from the lion king. That is REAL good eating.
