Hands down I must show my respect to ROTI :) The only thing that get me on the island though is that you all keep bone in everything and I prefer my roti with boneless chicken, but who knows maybe that is foreign of me. I will never forget the first time I was in Trinidad I got a chicken sandwich in town - I was drunk, as I usually am while on the island - and all I remember is taking a bite of that sandwich and almost chocking to death - there was bones up in the sandwich, like who does that. But yes back to me roti, roti with chicken and pumpkin and I'm happy for the entire day :)
Then there is my favorite Trinidadian chocolate - actually its my favorite chocolate in the world. My friends in Trinidad mail them to me when I have been away from the island for a while. It is no other then:
When it comes to juice, I give it hands down to
hehee :) as you can see I still have a stash from my last trip
You have to try the chiny style chicken when you are in Trinidad along with their KFC - they have great corn :)
Now I am not a fish eater at all but for those who do eat fish of course you need to have the bake and shark. I stick to bake and veggies or alloo pie (not sure how to spell it - I'll leave that to my editor). My all time favorite is coconut bake and egg in the morning :)
Any must haves or favorites you would like to share????

I love the pics!! Now I'm hungry... Thanks for the tip on the chicken with bone in (no option) at TnT. I wonder why that is... is that because us 'Foreign' are stush?? Maybe someone can enlighten us foreigners on this... I'll make sure not to eat while drunk.. And what about desserts in TnT?? I know there's more than Coco Crisps... oO
I LOVE COCO CRISP!!!! BUbbles, we could lime man!
Its the first thing I am going to buy when I get off the plane - ah I mean on Ash Wendesday when diet done :)
Be sure to check HOMES in Arima...OMG it's my fav. buss-up shot, with curry chicken and a side of sweet mango. OMG meh mouth watering.
My favorite place to eat in TNT is Creole Kitchen in Maraval - everything in there is unbelievable but I staying far from that place come carnival time!
I don't bother w/ chicken roti in TNT unless they have boneless on the menu. I love a good corn soup w/ plenty dumplins after a fete but lately what I been craving after fetes in TNT is a burger from 1 of the roadside vendors. Oh lawd the best burgers I ever had was in TNT :) They have the best toppings to put on (crunchy onions, pineapple). If u never had 1 defintely try them outside Insomnia!!!
I love corn soup from the road - my corn man is sour - love his soup.
I had a few street burgers too - must admit I'm not much of a meat eatter but after 10 hours of feteing it does the job :)
I'm stating in Maraval this time around so I will have to check our Creole - thanks for the tip :)
buublenut - yes definitely try Creole Kitchen - it's right there across the road from Ellersie Plaza. btw - I'm staying in Maraval too :)
