Where I plan to stay in Tobago...click here to view website...any feedback would be great

So this is where we plan to stay and recover after the greatest show on earth (Tobago Island Suites - click on the title of the blog to access there home page). Please let me know if you have stayed here or know anyone who has. Usually when in Tobago I stay at Mikes or Johnstons but have done the occasional night at Arthurs and Rainbow. Would you recommend renting a car for the stay???

Thanks to everyone

btw, this is my out most favorite view in the whole world... oh so peaceful

Renting a car is a must, Tobago Island Suites is in Buccoo,so you willl need to get around the island. I never stayed there but from the website it looks good.

Hey bubblenut, It's nice to see that u will be staying in my home village of Buccoo (well I use to live in the heart of Sunday School; Battery Street, Buccoo Point to the exact). For next year carnival season I will be staying with my close relatives in Buccoo Point, from there i will be hopping on a plane to Trini (to play with tribe, fireman of course) for about 5 days, after the celebrations are over I will be back in Tobago for the rest of my vacation....Right next to Tobago Island Suite there is another apartment by the name of Gulf View Apartment (if i am not mistaking), it's also very nice....Hope to see u around.

I love Sunday School :)
How far is the beach from the hotel???
All the best with your carnival plans - you have any family in Buccoo you want to marry off so I can live on the island

You should book your car in advance if you are going for Carnival since that is a peak period. Econo car has reasonable rates.

You can walk to the beach from Island Suites, sort of a longish walk, but then again walking anywhere is long to me since all I does do is drive! :S

There are three close by beaches which are Buccoo Bay, Grange beach and Mt Irvine beach...You can get to all three by walking if u up to it. I will have to say if u walking it will take u about 15 minutes to get to Buccoo Bay and Grange beach and about 25 minutes to get to Mt Irvine (notice i said 'about')...When I want to go to Grange and Mt Irvine I usually walk (well Buccoo Bay is a stone through away from my granny's house) It's really nice if u walk cause u get to enjoy the scenery...Lol, most of my relatives are female, sorry :( the only males we have available are my two baby cousins (give them few more years) my uncle who is already taken (but i could still put in a good word for you) and my grandfather (my granny will vex if u take him) lol...Tobago is surely a very very very nice place to be.

thanks for the great infomation. i will be attending my first trini carnival next year with three of my boys from DC and have been looking for a good place to stay during carnival. all the "hotels" are booked solid and was wondering if you have any suggestions?

well jj what can I tell you re places to stay. Usually when I stay in TnT I stay local in Trinidad and grab a hotel while in Tobago. Are any of your friends Trini??? try www.carnivalburnout.com and see if they can get you a room alone - they book blocks of rooms. Do you have your flight yet and are you playing mas.

Don't take this the wrong way boy but I well know how you Nigerians like to move and let me tell you Trinidad Carnival is not a place for all your flashy things - leave them at home and just pack your suitcase with some casual clothes and RUNNING shoes, none of what I usually see upon all your feet.

Let me know if you need anything, take care

Thanks buublenut...
A co-worker who is from trini is looking to see if we can stay at her folks house, so we have our fingers crossed.

i will check out the suggested web site and yes, we have booked our flights on AA. Although we are not playing mas, we plan to do everything else. Thanks for the advice and look forward to the trip.
